Ellen Simonis | Director of Simonis Pilates
Ellen has extensive experience and is highly trained in many areas of the physical body, dynamically integrating Body Mind awareness
with over 20 years professional experience. A professional dancer for 15 years, Ellen was first introduced to pilates as part of
her professional ballet training. She studied and received her Teachers Training with Mary Kasakove and
Brenda Anderson, owners of the prestigious Anderson Kasakove Studio in NYC. Ellen earned the position
as a private instructor working with clients of all levels; advanced conditioning to rehabilitation. Ellen also
studied with Peter Vallaincourt in NYC and Carol Appel and Associates at Body Kinetics in Mill Valley.
Ellen has taught ballet for over 15 years, owned and directed Dance Works and danced professionally
with the David Howard Dance Center Company in NYC. She has attended intensive teacher training
seminars with David Howard, Maya Plisetskaya - former Prima Ballerina Bolshoi Ballet, and Irena Kolpokova
- former Prima Ballerina of the Kirov Ballet. Ellen also has early ballet training at SFB School, ABT School and
special training in Russia and England. Ellen has taught yoga for over 10 years and continues her training with
intensive workshops. Ellen leads and facilitates workshops in meditation and advanced breath work (pranayama).
She is a master teacher with Humanity In Unity. Ellen also serves as a personal assistant to HH SaiMaa Lakshmi Devi.
Drawing from her rich experiences in movement and awareness Ellen can help facilitate balance, strength and a deeper
experience in your exercise program. Empowering you to take control of you health and well-being.
